A Low-Power Wide-Load-Range Output-Capacitorless Low-Dropout Voltage Regulator With Indirect-Direct Nested Miller Compensation

This paper presents the design of an output-capacitorless low-dropout voltage regulator (OCL-LDO) capable driving a wide range load capacitance and supplying current while maintaining excellent line regulations, thanks to combined indirect-direct nested Miller compensation which ensures stability maintains high loop gain over whole condition. Fabricated in 0.18-μm CMOS process consuming 14 μA quiescent current, OCL-LDO, between 0 mA 100 mA, is 0-1 nF; with minimum 1 however, OCL-LDO can drive up 10 nF capacitance. Over such load-current load-capacitance ranges, achieves DC regulations 0.025 mV/mA 0.5 mV/V, respectively.
